The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).
All metal prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with mounting hooks and nails.

Artist's Description
Electric tramway generator, 19th-century artwork. This is the power generation room for an electric tramway system in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Electrification of trams (also called streetcars) took place in the 1880s and 1890s. This site generated enough power for eight tramway lines and around 80 tram carriages. The trams drew the power from overhead cables. Allis steam engines and pistons operated Westinghouse dynamos to generate the electricity (300 horsepower, 450 amperes, 500 volts). Artwork from the 17th volume (first period of 1896) of the French popular science weekly 'La Science Illustree'.
